Buffalo Bayou Park Proposal – Houston, TX.
Jacob got in touch with me about capturing his proposal to his long time girlfriend, Natalie. As I’ve said before, I absolutely LOVE proposal sessions! I think there aren’t many moments in life that are more special than a proposal, especially when your partner has no idea what’s about to happen.
Of course, to surprise someone you have to come up with a plan, and Jacob’s was a good one. Natalie’s parents and sister were in town for the weekend, and he had picked out a perfect spot on a bridge over looking the city skyline. I would be waiting on the bridge with my wife, pretending to be getting pictures of the Houston cityscape. The cue was when Jacob would approach and ask if we could take a picture of their family with the city. About 9:45am, I saw them approaching.
I’m a photographer, not an actor, so I was probably almost as nervous as Jacob was. Not because of the photography, but I had never had to pose as something I wasn’t for a session. I was sure Natalie would know something was up when they walked up. I was wrong though, as she had no clue. She was so surprised and happy. But don’t take my word for it, take a look at some of my favorite pictures from the proposal:
Congratulations again guys. I was so honored to get to take part in this amazing moment in both of your lives. I wish you both the very best!
